The first thing that drew me to nova pickups was Till's conquest for understanding how each little nuance in pickup manufacturing contributes to the sound. In trying to clear up some of the myths surrounding guitar pickups, Till has created some of the clearest-sounding and coolest-looking guitar pickups that I could imagine. I'm very happy to have been a part of testing some of his earlier designs. The active Omnia prototype he built for my LTD Viper fixed every issue I had with the sound beforehand. Chords ring out clearly with every note being audible, which is a very important factor for me. It has enough output to give a nice push to tube amps, but doesn't slam every gain stage into oblivion. So far, every Omnia I've tried really brings out the character of the instrument without much coloration and without sounding sterile or boring. I have had no desire to change these pickups, because I can always adjust the sound with the rest of my equipment, and I feel like I could play all kinds of music with the Omnia and just dial the rest of my setup to give me whatever sound I like. Aside from all that, Till is a great person all around, really fun to work with, and I'm looking forward to all the discoveries he'll make in the pickup world.
